Our Outreach Group
The NEXTLOGIC Outreach Group (NOG) brings together stakeholders to support knowledge exchange and the wider uptake of project results. It includes representatives from research, industry, city authorities and policy networks working on sustainable urban mobility and logistics. Members contribute through selected consultations, workshops and dissemination activities, providing feedback, external perspectives and links to broader European initiatives. The Outreach Group supports stakeholder engagement beyond the consortium and contributes to the development, implementation and replication of project solutions.

CLOSER / Lindholmen Science Park, Sweden
Project Manager at CLOSER/Lindholmen Science Park, specialising in urban mobility, logistics and transport innovation, bringing together industry and public-sector partners to develop greener, more efficient urban freight solutions.
Paola Astegiano
FIT Consulting, Italy
She leads European and national research and innovation projects in passenger and freight mobility, with extensive experience in project management. Since 2025, she has also been CEO of FIT Società Cooperativa, a spin-off of FIT Consulting.
Raffaele Vergnani
POLIS, Belgium
He coordinates POLIS Newtork’s Urban Freight Working Group and manages EU projects on sustainable urban logistics. He has co-authored studies for European institutions and co-led EGUM’s urban logistics subgroup.
Lorenzo Cello
Transport and Logistics Foundation (ITL), Italy
He is a Programme Manager at ITL, where he develops project proposals aligned with Emilia-Romagna’s priorities. With a PhD in Political Science and extensive EU project management experience, he connects policy, research and practice to advance sustainable passenger and freight transport.
Barbara Jacobson
City of Santa Monica, USA
She is a Principal Transportation Planner at the City of Santa Monica, California, with 12 years of experience across U.S. cities and regions. Her work focuses on sustainable and equitable mobility, including shared mobility, transportation demand management and curb space management.
Gonzalo Martinez Santos
CurbIQ, United Kingdom
He works at CurbIQ, an Arcadis solution, helping cities digitise and manage curbside operations. With six years of experience across cities including Dublin, Seattle, Los Angeles and Boston, his work focuses on urban logistics, digital twins and open mobility data standards.
Andrea Annunziata
European Parking Association (EPA), Belgium
He is EU Affairs & Projects Manager at the European Parking Association (EPA), based in Brussels. He coordinates EU-funded projects and supports policy work on sustainable urban mobility, electromobility and parking enforcement, connecting the parking sector with European priorities.
Lorenzo Maggioni
GEL Proximity, Italy
He is CEO and Co-Founder of GEL Proximity, a technology platform for out-of-home logistics and pickup point and locker networks. With over ten years of experience in digital businesses, he develops last-mile and urban logistics solutions to improve delivery efficiency and reduce emissions.
Olivier Starkenmann
OVO Urban Logistics, Switzerland
He is Co-Founder of OVO Urban Logistics, specialising in urban transshipment, micro-logistics and multimodal logistics. Through innovation projects and collaboration with cities and industry, he develops practical solutions to make urban deliveries more sustainable and city centres more liveable.
Magnus Blinge
Swedish Transport Administration, Sweden
He heads the Research and Innovation Unit at the Swedish Transport Administration and is an Adjunct Professor at Linköping University. With a background in sustainable logistics and previous roles at Scania and VINNOVA, he brings extensive experience in transport innovation and collaboration between industry, public authorities and academia.
Emre Sevim
TU Berlin’s Center of Technology and Society, Germany
He is a Research Associate at TU Berlin’s Center of Technology and Society, with a background in urban planning and transportation sciences. His work focuses on sustainable mobility and integrated transport planning, with experience in international research and capacity building across Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East.
Hans Schurmans
Proximus Group, Belgium
He is Director of Logistics Operations and Circularity Lead at Proximus Group, focusing on sustainable supply chains, digital transformation and operational innovation. He also contributes to European urban logistics initiatives through ALICE and the EU Expert Group on Urban Mobility, alongside the Brussels Green Deal.
Ahmed Aljizani
Independent Expert, Saudi Arabia
Supply chain, logistics and mobility expert based in Riyadh, with a PhD in supply chain management and CSCP/CSCM certifications. He has led national logistics transformation programmes in Saudi Arabia and developed a Digital Twin framework for Riyadh’s urban logistics and traffic, backed by CIVITAS training in sustainable urban freight, ITS and SUMP/SULP planning. He is a Visiting Lecturer at Arab Open University.
Why joining the NOG?
NOG members contribute to, and benefit from, the NEXTLOGIC project by:
- Providing expert feedback on project concepts, solutions, tools and deliverables related to sustainable urban freight logistics and urban space management;
- Contributing perspectives from practice and policy, ensuring real-world relevance and applicability of project outcomes;
- Engaging in targeted consultations, workshops, and webinars;
- Anticipating deployment, governance, and market challenges related to Digital Twins, smart loading zones, microhubs and other innovative urban logistics solutions;
- Enhancing visibility and networking with a European community of cities, logistics stakeholders, researchers, technology providers and policy makers.
Participation in the NOG is non-commercial, non-binding, and free of charge.

Who should apply?
We welcome applications from individual experts and representatives of organisations with experience or interest in one or more of the following areas:
- Municipalities, cities and public authorities;
- Urban planning, mobility planning and public space management;
- Logistics operators, freight stakeholders and delivery service providers;
- Industry, technology providers and digital innovation companies;
- Policy makers, regulation and public administration;
- Research organisations, universities, research centres and think tanks;
- Civil society organisations, NGOs and citizen associations active in sustainable mobility, urban development or environmental issues.
Geographical diversity, gender balance and cross-sectoral representation will be actively encouraged.

What is expected from NOG members?
- Participate in selected online workshops, webinars, surveys or consultations (typically 1–3 per year);
- Provide constructive feedback on NEXTLOGIC solutions, tools, methodologies and results relevant to their expertise;
- Act as multipliers, helping disseminate project results and opportunities within their professional networks;
- Respect confidentiality, data protection requirements and ethical principles where applicable.
